About the Opportunity: GFSI is going to implement a largescale program titled GROW-Returns (Generating Rural Opportunities for Women to Win in Agri-entrepreneurship with growing returns) across selected districts in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and West Bengal . The overall goal of the project is to develop a scalable, community-driven, AI-enabled incubation model for rural women entrepreneurship, leveraging digital platforms and data-driven solutions to strengthen women-led enterprises, enhance smallholder productivity and incomes, and drive climate-resilient, inclusive agricultural growth. Over a period of two year, the initiative will enable 5,000 rural women to establish and lead profitable Agri-based enterprises: On an average 1,000 – 1500 Rural Women Entrepreneurs (RWE) in each state and each RWE serving approximately 100 smallholders. In doing so, the project will directly impact 500,000 farmers and target an average 20% annual increase in farm-based incomes by the end of the year, while strengthening women’s roles as last-mile service providers and market connectors in climate-resilient value chains.

Reporting and relationships: The position reports to the State Manager of GROW-Returns project. The District Coordinator will directly supervise field staff, local implementing partners and contractors related to the project. The position will be based in one of the districts of states as mentioned above.

Job Summary: The District Coordinator will be responsible for all operations in her/his assigned district and ensure that the implemented activities are aligned with the project overall goal

Essential Job Functions

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • To establish clear goals, targets, milestones, activities, etc., for trainers and field mobilizers and provide guidance, support, and regular feedback to help them implement the project in their district
  • To monitor and oversee the functioning of field in their district
  • To work in close coordination with the field facilitator and Local Resource person in mobilizing the community and potential RWEs to participate in capacity building sessions, and Interpersonal Communication (IPC)
  • To lead the scouting, and plan for mentoring and accompaniment of the Rural Women Entrepreneurs (RWEs) selected in the assigned district
  • To help develop confidence, knowledge, critical thinking skills, and understanding of the project among the community and RWEs
  • To identify relevant stakeholders within the community and the district ecosystem for potential collaborations or developing partnerships with local agencies for successful business operations of the RWEs
  • To provide regular updates to the State Manager about the district’s operations and report any issues/ bottlenecks blocking the project’s progress
  • To build and maintain relationships with local stakeholders and project communities, particularly the RWEs, to foster support and cooperation for the project’s success
  • Selection and onboarding of RWEs with a target of onboarding 500 – 750 RWEs per district by Oct end 2026
  • To ensure collection and analysis of relevant data and its tracking and use for decision making in the project
  • To ensure development of relevant digital content and project wide adoption of Grameen’s proprietary apps for project databasing, client capacity-building, creation and curation of knowledge assets, and for project documentation and monitoring
  • Regular field visits to project villages
  • Development of weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports

 

Education and Experience

 

  • (S)he should have 3 to 5 years of work experience in the agriculture domain, particularly in Agri supply chain management, marketing, finance and Technology  
  • Should possess experience in liaising with government departments and market players.
  • Should have experience of working with smallholder farmers especially women
  • The minimum qualification would be Graduation in Agriculture /Rural Development/Social Science and an industry-recognized MBA / PG Diploma in Business Management from a reputed institute
  • Basic Hindi speaking skills; good English reading and writing skills; and excellent knowledge of local language as per the state entrusted to VIZ.  Telugu for Andhra, Gujrati for Gujrat, Marathi for Maharashtra and Bengali for West Bengal with speaking, reading and writing proficiency.
