Shatarupa possesses a postgraduate degree in Agriculture and holds 18 years of valuable professional experience. Before joining GFSI, she served at CARE India as  Senior Technical Specialist – Livelihoods. Her professional journey also includes roles at prominent organizations like Better Cotton Initiative (BCI), Action for Food Production (AFPRO), and The Energy and Resource Institute (TERI). Shatarupa has contributed her expertise to State Agriculture University also in the realms of research and development.

Her proficiency lies in climate resilient and sustainable agriculture, fostering livelihoods rooted in natural resources, promoting clean energy solutions for carbon emission reduction, developing community-based institutions/enterprises with a special emphasis on empowering women. Shatarupa is a keen learner and adept at shaping strategic visions, designing and implementing high quality programs, and maintaining accountability across all stakeholders.

With a knack for managing and expanding diverse partnerships and projects across various regions of India, she has successfully designed and executed numerous livelihood programs, collaborating with donors like IKEA, IDH, ICAR, World Bank, Shell India Ltd, HCL Foundation, L’Oréal Foundation, Cadence, McCormick, Galleries Lafayette, and Mars Foods, to name a few.

Shatarupa stays in Noida with her family and in her spare time she loves to be learning new ideas, listening to music and doing art & craft.
