Before joining GFSI, she served at CARE India as Senior Technical Specialist – Livelihoods. Her professional journey also includes roles at prominent organizations like Better Cotton Initiative (BCI), Action for Food Production (AFPRO), and The Energy and Resource Institute (TERI). Shatarupa has contributed her expertise to State Agriculture University also in the realms of research and development.
Her proficiency lies in climate resilient and sustainable agriculture, fostering livelihoods rooted in natural resources, promoting clean energy solutions for carbon emission reduction, developing community-based institutions/enterprises with a special emphasis on empowering women. Shatarupa is a keen learner and adept at shaping strategic visions, designing and implementing high quality programs, and maintaining accountability across all stakeholders.
